Craig Freshley is a professional meeting facilitator, speaker, trainer, and author with an inspiring attitude and a well-earned reputation for helping groups be efficient, harmonious, and productive.

In 2019 Craig won the American Civic Collaboration Award for creating and facilitating Make Shift Coffee Houses: face-to-face places where conservatives, liberals, and all kinds of people meet to talk and understand each other’s political views. Craig is a social entrepreneur who helped start Sustainable Maine, the Maine Downtown Center, GrowSmart Maine, and Two Echo Cohousing Community. He has also started and ran Intown Courier, a 1980s bike messenger service in Portland, Maine. Today Craig owns Good Group Decisions which he started in 2003.

Craig has professionally facilitated over 3,000 meetings where he has helped groups make good decisions. Read what some of them have to say. Craig’s insights and skills help groups achieve new and unimagined levels of efficiency, peace, and productivity. He has written a book called The Wisdom of Group Decisions.

Craig has Bachelors degrees in Political Science and Philosophy from the University of Maine, and a Masters Degree in Public Policy and Management from the Muskie School for Public Service. Craig lives with his wife in a cohousing community where they raised two girls (along with goats, sheep, chickens, a donkey, a pig, and the family dog). Craig is a Quaker which basically means that he looks for good in every person.
