Aquaculture Research Institute at the University of Maine (2021)

As in year’s past, the Aquaculture Research Institute has hired me to facilitate a full day retreat and other meetings in order to form a strategic plan.

Bioscience Association of Maine (2021-2024)

The Bioscience Association of Maine (BioME) is a trade organization which promotes the industry’s steady growth, interprets its benefits to the public, and influences pertinent public policy. As in years past, they have again hired Craig to facilitate a full-day Board Retreat establish future goals and plans.

Bowdoin College McKeen Center for Common Good (2021)

As in years past, Bowdoin College has hired Craig to offer a multi-part training series to students on the topics of how to listen when you disagree and how to facilitate hard conversations.

Bowdoinham, Town of (2021) (2022)

Several years ago the Town of Bowdoinham hired me to help them develop a 10-year vision for their town. Actually, that must have been about ten years ago! They are asking me back. I’m going to facilitate discussions that lead to a revised Vision and support the Comprehensive Planning Committee.

Dragon Cement (2010-2023)

To foster good relations and communications with their neighbors, Dragon Cement of Thomaston hired me to facilitate regular meetings of their Community Advisory Panel made up of local government, nonprofit, and business leaders.

Falmouth Town Council (2011-2024)

We have been hired several years in a row to plan and facilitate the annual retreat of the Falmouth Town Council, which includes developing elements of a long-term strategic work plan and board development.

Gardiner City Council (2009-2023)

As they have in the past, the Gardiner City Council hired us to facilitate a workshop to take stock of recent accomplishments, update Council interaction guidelines, and establish Council goals for the coming year. Gardiner is a city of about 6,000 on the banks of the Kennebec River in Maine.

Greater Franklin Development Council (2021)

The Greater Franklin Development Council attracts and assists businesses and entrepreneurs by advocating, promoting, and collaborating to support a sustainable and thriving community. I am working with their board and staff on strategic planning.

Greater Portland Council of Governments – Chairs in a Circle (2019-2023)

As in the past, Craig has been hired to facilitate a session of town and city council chairs and vice chairs to share best practices and lessons with each other.

The Greater Portland Council of Governments (GPCOG) is a nonprofit organization that assists with cooperative services such as bulk purchasing, transportation planning, data, mapping, and economic and community development. GPCOG’s members include 26 municipalities from Casco Bay to western Cumberland County, along with the County itself and other affiliate organizations.

Growing To Give (2021)

Growing To Give is a nonprofit organization located at Scattergood Farm in Brunswick. They grows tons (literally) of high quality organic food that they get into the hands of people in need through food pantries and soup kitchens. Craig is helping them with Board Development.

HospitalityMaine (2021)

HospitalityMaine is a trade association that represents Maine’s hospitality industry (restaurants, hotels, etc.). They have hired me to work with their board on strategic planning.

Maine Association of Realtors (2019) (2021)

The Maine Association of Realtors is Maine’s largest professional trade association, representing nearly 6,000 real estate professionals engaged in all aspects of the real estate business. For the second time we have been hired to help the Association make its strategic plan.

Maine Audubon (2021)

Maine Audubon is one of the largest and most effective conservation organizations in Maine. I’m working with the Board of Trustees and Leadership Staff to help them develop a long term visions and 10-year strategic plan.

Maine Coast Sea Vegetables (2021)

As in the past, Maine Coast Sea Vegetables is hiring me to help them with strategic planning.

An employee-owned company in Hancock, Maine, they harvest wild seaweed and other sea vegetables from the North Atlantic, process it in Hancock, and ship it all over New England and North America. They have been a long-time model for sustainable business practice.

Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife (2021)

Tasked with administering the collaborative program Beginning with Habitat, IF&W has hired me to help engage stakeholders in the making of a Strategic Plan.

Maine Highlands Working Communities Challenge (2021) (2022)

A coalition of nonprofits and municipal governments in the Piscataquis County region of Maine (northwest of Bangor) has received a Working Communities Challenge Grant from the Boston Federal Reserve Bank to understand how persistent and growing poverty impacts the region and to develop collaborative and inclusive strategies for everyone in the community to thrive.  I have been hired to facilitate meetings of the Leadership Team.

NH LAKES – Board (2021)

NH LAKES promotes clean water policies and responsible use of New Hampshire’s lakes. After hiring Craig several years ago to help them develop a strategic plan, they have hired us again to come back and help them revise their strategic goals.

NH LAKES – Staff (2021)

This highly effective New Hampshire nonprofit has hired me to run a training worksop or all their staff.

Northern Forest Center (2021)

The Northern Forest Center has staff in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and New York. They invest in people and communities to secure regional prosperity and a resilient landscape. They hired me to run a full day staff development session at a lodge and campground in the White Mountains.

Portland Buy Local (2021)

Portland Buy Local supports local independent businesses as the foundation of a resilient, engaged community. The organization hired me to help them with strategic planning.

South Portland Police Services Review Working Group (2020-21)

The South Portland City Council has established a multi-stakeholder working group to review how the Police Department serves the community and responds to calls. They will be making recommendations to the City Council. Craig has been selected to facilitate the Working Group and prepare the report of recommendations. Two Echo Cohousing Community (2021)

I was hired by my own neighborhood association to provide training on meeting facilitation and related.

York, Maine (2021) (2022)

I have been hired by the Town of York, Maine to facilitate the establishment of a 10-year plan for Fire Service Delivery. Did you know that York currently has two fire departments? And two very active call companies?

Youth and Family Outreach (2021)

Youth and Family Outreach creates opportunities that support learning and enhance the quality of life for children, teens, and families in Greater Portland. Their center is at the corner Preble and Cumberland streets in Portland. Similar to years past, Craig has been hired to facilitate a Board Retreat, although this year it will be a series of Zoom meetings.
