Bowdoinham, Town of (2021) (2022)
Several years ago the Town of Bowdoinham hired me to help them develop a 10-year vision for their town. Actually, that must have been about ten years ago! They are asking me back. I’m going to facilitate discussions that lead to a revised Vision and support the Comprehensive Planning Committee.
Cape Elizabeth Land Trust (2022)
The Cape Elizabeth Land Trust permanently conserves and provides stewardship for lands cherished by the community – from shore lands to marshes, from farmlands to woodlands – for the education, use and enjoyment of this and future generations. They have hired me to help their board and senior staff with strategic planning.
Cape Elizabeth Public Library (2022)
The Thomas Memorial Library in Cape Elizabeth, Maine is owned by the Town with a citizen Advisory Board. I have been hired to help the staff and board develop a strategic plan for the library.
Chalmers Group (2022)
The Chalmers Group is a family-owned group of insurance companies in western and southern Maine and in New Hampshire; leadership now includes the fourth generation of the Chalmers family. As in years past, we have been hired to facilitate a two-day strategic planning retreat for the leadership team.
Church Pension Group (2022)
Based in New York City, Church Pension Group provides pension management and insurance services for clergy. They have hired me to do 4 training sessions – one per quarter – with corporate leaders.
A surrogate company that matches intended parents with surrogate women, ConceiveAbilities helps make families. Given the intimate relationship between intended parents and surrogates, ConceiveAbilities wants their staff to be grounded in consensus decision making principles in order to guide surrogates and intended parents through difficult decisions. We have been hired to provide training.
Dragon Cement (2010-2023)
To foster good relations and communications with their neighbors, Dragon Cement of Thomaston hires me to facilitate regular meetings of their Community Advisory Panel made up of local government, nonprofit, and business leaders.
Falmouth, Maine (2022)
As in years past, I facilitated a full-day retreat of the Falmouth Town Council to review past goals and make new goals for the upcoming year.
Fedco Seeds (2022-2023)
Based in Clinton, Maine, FEDCO is a cooperative, one of the few seed companies so organized in the United States. Profit is not the primary goal. Consumers own 60% of the cooperative and worker members 40%. The cooperative structure gives workers a real voice in running the company and a real stake in its success. FEDCO has hired me to help them with strategic planning.
Franklin Community Health Network (2022)
Franklin Community Health Network is a locally controlled, nonprofit, integrated network of rural health care providers, created by Franklin Memorial Hospital in 1991. I have been hired to facilitate a full-day board retreat.
Greater Portland Council of Governments – Chairs in a Circle (2019-2022)
As in the past, Craig has been hired to facilitate a session of town and city council chairs and vice chairs to share best practices and lessons with each other.
The Greater Portland Council of Governments (GPCOG) is a nonprofit organization that assists with cooperative services such as bulk purchasing, transportation planning, data, mapping, and economic and community development. GPCOG’s members include 26 municipalities from Casco Bay to western Cumberland County, along with the County itself and other affiliate organizations.
Institute for Family-Owned Business (2022)
The Institute for Family-Owned Business is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization committed to supporting, strengthening and empowering family-owned businesses throughout the state of Maine. The have hired me to run a strategic planning retreat with their board.
Konbit Sante (2022)
Based in Maine, Kanbit Sante’s mission is to support the development of a sustainable health system to meet the needs of the Cap-Haitien community in Haiti with maximum local direction and support. We have been hired to do strategic planning with the Board.
League of Women Voters of Maine (2022)
The League of Women Voters of Maine works to improve our government and engage our communities in the decisions that impact our lives. They have hired me to deliver a training seminar with this working title: “Steps for Good Group Decisions – It’s more than just a meeting.”
Maine Board of Dental Practice (2022)
The Maine Board of Dental Practice is a state regulatory agency and was established to protect the public through the regulation of individuals practicing in the dental profession. The Board hired me to help them with strategic planning. I solicited a full-day in-person retreat in Augusta.
Maine Health & Higher Educational Facilities Authority (2022)
The Maine Health and Higher Educational Facilities Authority (MHHEFA) provides colleges, universities, and healthcare facilities access to capital markets by issuing low cost, tax-exempt bonds and lending the proceeds to finance or refinance the acquisition, construction, and renovation of facilities. We have been hired to help the Board with strategic planning.
Maine Highlands Working Communities Challenge (2021) (2022)
A coalition of nonprofits and municipal governments in the Piscataquis County region of Maine (northwest of Bangor) has received a Working Communities Challenge Grant from the Boston Federal Reserve Bank to understand how persistent and growing poverty impacts the region and to develop collaborative and inclusive strategies for everyone in the community to thrive. I have been hired to facilitate meetings of the Leadership Team.
Maine Mineral and Gem Museum (2022)
Located in Bethel, the mission of the Maine Mineral and Gem Museum is to celebrate the mineralogy of Maine and to enlighten visitors as to the origin of Earth and beyond through dynamic exhibits, educational programming and scientific research—all designed to fire the imagination. They have hired me to help the staff and board with strategic planning.
Maine Transit Association (2022)
A broad coalition of Maine public transportation providers such as bus, boat, and train services, the Maine Transit Association (MTA) is the voice of Maine’s public transportation community. They have hired me to help them develop strategic priorities.
Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce (2022)
Based in Waterville, Maine, the Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce is dedicated and committed to promoting, educating and advocating for business prosperity and regional economic improvement. They have hired me to run their Annual Planning Retreat.
Natural Resources Council of Maine (2022)
The Natural Resources Council of Maine (NRCM) is a nonprofit membership organization protecting, restoring, and conserving Maine’s environment, now and for future generations. They hired me to facilitate a Board Retreat on Zoom.
Norway, Maine (2022)
The Town of Norway, Maine has hired me to run a multi-phase process to help the Town develop a Vision for its future, as a foundation for upcoming comprehensive planning.
Orono, Maine (2022)
The Town of Orono, Maine has hired me to plan and facilitate a pair of workshops for the Town Council.
Railroad Square, Yarmouth (2022)
Railroad Square is a vibrant mixed use neighborhood proposed for the heart of a revitalized Yarmouth Village. Before the Planning Board process, the property owners and project partners want to have a public meeting to explain the project, answer questions, and address concerns. They have hired me to run some of the public meetings.
Regulatory Assistance Project (2022)
The Regulatory Assistance Project (RAP)® is an independent, non-partisan, non-governmental organization dedicated to accelerating the transition to a clean, reliable, and efficient energy future. They have hired my to facilitate a 4-day in-person meeting in Cambridge, Massachusetts called RAP Days 2022.
Sanford City Council (2022-2023)
The City of Sandford, Maine hired me to plan and facilitate a workshop for the City Council.
SGR Strategic Government Resources (2022-2023)
SGR exists to help local governments become more successful by Recruiting, Assessing, and Developing Innovative, Collaborative, Authentic Leaders. This innovative consulting company has invited me to be a speaker at their January 2023 Servant Leadership Conference in Forth Worth, Texas.
