Atlantic Mariculture (2017-2023)

Atlantic Mariculture harvests and sells certified organic sea vegetables, located on the island of Grand Manan, New Brunswick. We were hired to plan and facilitate a strategic planning session with the staff on Grand Manan.

Bar Harbor, Town of (2023)

I have been hired to facilitate a workshop of the Bar Har Town Council focused on setting priorities for the upcoming year.

Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences (2023)

Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences is an independent, nonprofit research institute located in East Boothbay, Maine. From the Arctic to the Antarctic, Bigelow Laboratory scientists use innovative approaches to study the foundation of global ocean health and unlock its potential to improve the future for all life on our planet. They’ve hired me for some training.

Bioscience Association of Maine (2021-2024)

The Bioscience Association of Maine (BioME) is a trade organization which promotes the industry’s steady growth, interprets its benefits to the public, and influences pertinent public policy. As in years past, they have again hired Craig to facilitate a full-day Board Retreat establish future goals and plans.

Bowdoin College – McKeen Center for Common Good (2023)

As in past years, I have been hired to facilitate community conversations and provide training for students on how to talk across differences. This year we are focused on bringing together students with fishermen to discuss how larger trends and policies affect Maine’s coastal communities.

Bowdoinham, Town of (2023-2024)

I have been hired by the Town of Bowdoinham Comprehensive Planning Committee to facilitate public forums on how to increase housing in this predominantly rural Maine community, and to develop a vision for the town in support of the Town’s new comprehensive plan.

ChIME – The Chaplaincy Institute of Maine (2023)

The Chaplaincy Institute of Maine – ChIME – is an institution dedicated to serving communities by offering a multitude of opportunities for individuals to explore what it is to live with integrity, Spiritual Presence and Prophetic Voice. They have hired me for a workshop at Maine Coast Waldorf School scheduled for April 1, 2023, part of which will be open to the public. We will discuss Listening Across Differences.

Cumberland County (2016-2023)

Cumberland County, Maine is home to 28 cities and towns. The county government manages a court and justice system, emergency management services, and partners with others to support economic development and regional health and water quality. We’ve been hired to facilitate a strategic planning retreat for the County Commissioners to take stock of recent successes and challenges and make plans for the future.

Dragon Cement (2010-2023)

To foster good relations and communications with their neighbors, Dragon Cement of Thomaston hired me to facilitate regular meetings of their Community Advisory Panel made up of local government, nonprofit, and business leaders.

Falmouth Town Council (2011-2023)

We have ben hired several years in a row to plan and facilitate the annual retreat of the Falmouth Town Council, which includes developing elements of a long-term strategic work plan and board development.

Fedco Seeds (2022-2023)

Based in Clinton, Maine, FEDCO is a cooperative, one of the few seed companies so organized in the United States. Profit is not the primary goal. Consumers own 60% of the cooperative and worker members 40%. The cooperative structure gives workers a real voice in running the company and a real stake in its success. FEDCO has hired me to help them with strategic planning.

Fedco Seeds is a Cooperative based in Hinckley, Maine. They hired me to facilitate their Annual Meeting of Workers.

Fort Worth, Texas (2023)

Through my partnership with Strategic Government Resources (SGR), a consulting company that helps local governments be more successful, I am delivering training to staff of the City of Fort Worth on Meeting Facilitation and Time Management.

Friends World Committee for Consultation (2023)

The Friends World Committee for Consultation has engaged me to deliver a workshop at their upcoming Section of the America’s Conference. This is a Quaker group and the topic will be: Together We Decide: Practical Tools for What the World Needs. You can attend in-person or online. Details here.

Gardiner City Council (2009-2023)

As they have in the past, the Gardiner City Council hired us to facilitate a workshop to take stock of recent accomplishments, update Council interaction guidelines, and establish Council goals for the coming year. Gardiner is a city of about 6,000 on the banks of the Kennebec River in Maine.

Girl Scouts of Maine (2023)

The Girl Scouts of Maine have hired me to facilitate a retreat among all the staff to discus their strategic direction.

Goodwill Northern New England (2023-2024)

Goodwill’s motto is, “a hand up, not a hand out.” It’s part of their mission to teach people the skills to achieve personal stability; skills like job preparedness and career training. Personal stability looks different for everyone, which is why they provide supports and services through healthcare, workforce and cleaning that help any person get to stability. They have hired Craig to facilitate a strategic planning process among the board and staff leaders, and other special projects.

Greater Portland Council of Governments – Chairs in a Circle (2019-2023)

As in the past, Craig has been hired to facilitate a session of town and city council chairs and vice chairs to share best practices and lessons with each other.

The Greater Portland Council of Governments (GPCOG) is a nonprofit organization that assists with cooperative services such as bulk purchasing, transportation planning, data, mapping, and economic and community development. GPCOG’s members include 26 municipalities from Casco Bay to western Cumberland County, along with the County itself and other affiliate organizations.

Greater Portland Council of Governments and Town of Cape Elizabeth (2023)

In collaboration with the Greater Portland Council of Governments (GPCOG) I was hired to facilitate a public forum in the town of Cape Elizabeth, Maine focused on affordable housing.

Kennebec Behavioral Health (2011-2024)

Kennebec Behavioral Health promotes the well-being of persons who experience mental illness, emotional difficulties or behavioral challenges. KBH provides one of the most comprehensive community mental health centers in Maine, with 21 sites in central Maine, and programs reaching from Rockland to Lewiston. Craig has been hired to work with the Senior Management Team on Strategic Planning and Organizational Development.

Main Street Alabama (2023)

Part of the National Main Street movement, Main Street Alabama is focused on bringing jobs, dollars and people back to Alabama’s historic communities. They have hired me to deliver the keynote address at their annual conference.

Main Street America (2023)

Main Street America leads a movement committed to strengthening communities through preservation-based economic development in older and historic downtowns and neighborhood commercial districts. It was established as a program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation in 1980 as a way to address the myriad issues facing older and historic downtowns during that time. They have invited me to lead a workshop at their annual meeting of state coordinators.

Maine Governor’s Office of Policy, Innovation, and the Future (2023)

Staff of the Governor’s Office facilitate many meetings for the many groups that they work with. They have hired me to deliver Meeting Facilitation Training to their staff.

Maine Humanities Council (2023)

For the Maine Humanities Council I served as part of a panel on how to talk with people, with respect and civility, who have extreme ideas.

Maine Municipal Bond Bank (2023)

The Maine Municipal Bond Bank was created in 1971 by the Maine State Legislature. The agency has an immense history of providing Maine’s cities, towns, school systems, water and sewer districts, and other governmental entities access to low cost capital funds through the sale of its highly rated tax-exempt bonds. Established as an independent agency, the Bond Bank is administered by a board of commissioners appointed by the Governor. Craig has been hired to facilitate a strategic planning meeting with the Board of Commissioners.

Maine Public (2023-2024)

Every day, Maine Public connects the people of Maine and our region to each other and to the world through the open exchange of information, ideas, and cultural content. They run Maine Public Radio, Maine Public Television, and Maine Public Online. Five years ago they hired me to help them develop their strategic plan. They’ve invited me back to help them update the plan.

Massachusettes Municipal Management Association (2023)

I have been hired to run a training workshop at the Fall Conference of the Massachusetts Municipal Management Association on the topic of civility and how town managers can create a respectful environment for staff and residents in the wake of a recent Supreme Judicial Court case striking down the use of Codes of Conduct.

Midcoast Youth Center (2023)

On behalf of the Working Communities Challenge, Midcoast Youth Center has convened a meeting to hear specifically from Sagadahoc youth and young adults ages 16-24 to gather their views on how the community can support them. They are also convening a public meeting to learn about and react to the perspectives of youth and young adults. They hired me to design and facilitate the meetings.

NAHGA (2023)

Part of the Chalmers Insurance Group, NAHGA Claim Services provides third party claims administration, specializing in sports associations and student athletic programs. I was hired to deliver a keynote speech at their Annual Meeting and also to plan and facilitate a strategic planning retreat among company leaders to build shared understanding of the company’s core competencies, future opportunities, and strategic direction.

National League of Cities (2023)

Through my partnership with SGR, I was hired by the National League of Cities to deliver a keynote speech at a national conference of their Risk Information Sharing Consortium in Louisville, Kentucky.

North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE) (2023)

The North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE) supports environmental educators with professional development, guidelines for excellence, networking, and advocacy. They have hired me for a training workshop.

Opportunity Alliance, Bridgton, Maine (2023)

The Opportunity Alliance is the Community Action Agency for Cumberland County. Through multiple integrated community-based and clinical programs, they serve more than 20,000 people annually throughout Maine. They have hired us to facilitate a meeting among nonprofits in the region of Bridgton, Maine for foster collaboration.

Portland, Maine City Council – 2023

In partnership with SGR (Strategic Government Resources) I am facilitating a goal-setting workshop for the City Council where we will establish common goals for the upcoming year and also discuss norms and expectations for working together.

Regulatory Assistance Project (2022-2023)

The Regulatory Assistance Project (RAP)® is an independent, non-partisan, non-governmental organization dedicated to accelerating the transition to a clean, reliable, and efficient energy future. They have hired my to facilitate their 4-day annual in-person meeting called RAP Days, this year in the Washington DC area.

Sanford City Council (2022-2023)

The City of Sandford, Maine hired me to plan and facilitate a workshop for the City Council.

SGR Strategic Government Resources (2022-2023)

SGR exists to help local governments become more successful by Recruiting, Assessing, and Developing Innovative, Collaborative, Authentic Leaders. This innovative consulting company has invited me to be a speaker at their January 2023 Servant Leadership Conference in Forth Worth, Texas.

St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church (2023)

St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church located in the heart of Middlebury, Vermont has hired my to facilitate a strategic planning session for church leaders.

Statewide Quality Improvement Council (2017, 2023)

The Statewide Quality Improvement Council (QIC) represents people served by the Maine Department of Health and Human Services by advising the Commissioner on issues of statewide system implementation, advising the Community Mental Health and Substance Abuse Block Grant process, and working to ensure that Maine provides quality mental health and substance abuse services in an environment of respect and empowerment. We were hired to plan and facilitate two strategic planning meetings to build shared agreement on vision, mission, values, an action plan, and committee responsibilities. As a result we prepared a Complete Meeting Report and a Draft Strategic Plan.

 

University of Maine Alumni Association (2023)

The University of Maine Alumni Association has more than 110,000 UMaine alumni living in 50 states and 112 countries. They have hired me to help them develop a strategic plan.

Versant Power (2023)

Versant Power is the regulated electric transmission and distribution utility that serves 164,000 customer accounts in northern and eastern Maine. They have hired me to run three days of peer-to-peer safety and communications training.

Waterville City Council (2014-2023)

The City of Waterville, Maine on the banks of the Kennebec River, is home to about 16,000 people. We were hired to facilitate a workshop for members of the City Council.
